Marcie has enjoyed her corporate careers as Senior Commercial Designer, author of five books, Public Relations Coordinator for a private University, award-winning live television host, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Business Development and Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Medial Staff. Marcie is also a mentor in her community where she is an interview specialist and public speaking coach. Marcie is the founder and creator of National Higher Education Day. She also wrote a Senate Resolution declaring June National Higher Education month in the State of California. Marcie is married Demetri and they have two energetic, vegan kiddos Adoniah (3) and Kosta (9 months).
Chief Operating Officer
Valerie Anglen majored in Physical Education at California State University of Northridge. She currently works for the Kern High School District as their Interior/Exterior Commercial Designer, where she has remodeled nine high schools. She has also been a wedding coordinator and special events coordinator for over 10 years. Valerie has owned her own personal training business as well as managed the largest women’s gym in her hometown. She is a former Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She cheered in Super Bowl XIV as a Rams cheerleader. Valerie has been happily married for 32 years. She has two accomplished daughters.
Dr. Scharffenber M.D. M.D.H.
John Scharffenberg, M.D., M.P.H. has been a professor of nutrition at Loma Linda University for 55 years. He was a graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health. He has been acting head of the San Bernardino County Health Department, Consultant to the Centers of Disease Control in Atlanta GA, Director of the International Nutrition Research Foundation in Riverside, CA, and Clinician on the Secretariat of the Interdepartmental Committee on National Defense located at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. and Assistant Director of the Health Department of the General Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist.
Chief Financial Officer
Demetri is a fourth generation farmer. Hronis, Inc. has been operating since 1945, specializing in 14 different varieties of table grapes. They provide quality produce to all 50 States and 12 countries. As a private business owner of multiple companies, Demetri focuses on quality control to ensure customer satisfaction. He is an esteemed member of the Board of Directors for the California Fresh Fruit Association. Demetri was a high school football coach for nine years with a successful winning career. He has been happily married to Marcie for 3 years and is a proud father of a beautiful daughter and son.
Office and Marketing Manager
Janae is an enrollment counselor and recruiter for her alma mater, Pacific Union College. She travels the country promoting private, higher education. She is a graduate from Pacific Union College with a degree in Marketing Communications. She was the director of the resident assistant advisory council, and president of the communications club during her college years. Janae now specializes in custom website designs and social media marketing while pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.
Doug has been actively working in the ministry field for over 25 years. He has participated in three overseas missionary trips where he has preached the word of God to over 50,000 people and baptized thousands. He also was involved with prison ministries. Doug has been a Sabbath School teacher and Elder at his church for over 25 years. Doug has been happily married to Valerie for 32 years. He loves spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Leslie Anglen, M.D.
Leslie graduated medical school in 2014 with a focus in family medicine and preventative health care. She conducted her pre-internship in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. Leslie also holds a degree from La Sierra University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health. She has proudly served as a medical missionary overseas. Leslie was classically trained in ballet for 12 years with the Royal Academy of Dance. Leslie, along with her sister Marcie, was raised vegan and now strives to eat a raw plant based diet.
Lisa has been a food connoisseur for many years. She started her journey in her own kitchen and has ended up a highly revered baker and chef. Lisa has auctioned off her culinary skills for local charities. She has also enjoyed cooking for her church and family gatherings. She can single-handedly prepare a meal for five or 500. She is passionate about food and the happiness it brings to her family and friends.
Deanna graduated from Stanford University as certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked with Helps International and Pine Meadow Counseling Center. Deanna has been on 23 medical missionary trips. She and her teams have treated 30,000 medical, dental, surgical and prosthetic patients. All of their services are provided at no charge to their patients. Deanna has seen the Bible come to life, she has seen the blind see and the deaf hear, the lame walk and people who are near death restored to health.
Vanessa is a graduate of California State University of Bakersfield with a bachelor degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing. Vanessa is a proud mother of two and enjoys dreaming up vegan recipes in her kitchen. Vanessa’s recipes have been featured in a summer health article called, “Ditch the Meat, You Won’t Miss It” which was published in B Well Bakersfield Wellness Magazine. Vanessa has championed an organic school garden for Bakersfield Adventist Academy. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, running, and being worship leading at her church.
Stephanie is the Senior Marketing Manager for TRIS Technology Solutions. She currently serves on seven executive boards within her community which include National Association of Professional Women and the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce: Ambassador Committee. Stephanie is a social media guru where she promotes health and weight loss on her Instagram page with over 12,000 active followers. Her husband is a successful entrepreneur and she has two beautiful daughters.
Edgar graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the California State University of Bakersfield. He is actively involved with youth ministry and men’s ministry at Bakersfield Central Seventh-day Adventist Church. He has volunteered for Revelation of Hope evangelistic series planning and preparing vegan meals. Edger is also very accomplished in photography and film editing. Edger is currently working at Natures Food Market and Juice Bar, where he enjoys promoting health and wellness.
